Southern Exposure

Alembic Bar

OVERVIEW

Daniel Hyatt is to cocktails what The Band is to music. This wonderful cocktail is a simple twist on a South Side. Named for the southern exposure of a garden, it brings in the fresh garden flavors of celery, mint and lime. Whenever you feel like a taste of spring, this is the perfect cocktail to get you there. Leave your juicer out. This drink is addictive.

Southern Exposure Cocktail Ingredients
  • Junipero Gin - 1 ½ oz
  • Fresh-squeezed lime juice - ½ oz.
  • Simple Syrup - ½ oz.
  • Fresh Celery Juice - ¾ oz.
  • Fresh Mint - 7 or 8 mint leaves

:: PREPARATION

Chill a coupe glass. In a cocktail shaker add all the ingredients then add ice. When you shake with fresh herbs don’t attack it, just roll it a little to gently use the ice to help the mint release its oil. Strain through a tea strainer to get out any bits of mint. Use a spoon to hasten the last liquid through the strainer. Garnish with a mint tip by first massaging it to release the oils then placing it on top of the cocktail.

Cocktail Town Yum!
